LOBSTER was developed by a group of financial econometricians affiliated with Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Germany and the University of Vienna, Austria.
After a successful beta we founded our company, and since 2024 LOBSTER has been run by LOBSTER DATA TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE LTD (Companies House).

Humboldt-Innovation GmbH provided administrative support during LOBSTER's early stages. Humboldt-Innovation GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. It is the knowledge and technology transfer unit of Humboldt Universität and handles research and development contracts with industry partners on its own behalf and for its own account.
